I Must Go

I must go! I have good tidings
My Lord commissions me to bear, –
Tidings of His great salvation
Unto the lost ones ev’rywhere.

I must go! His love constrains me;
I hear His clear, insistent word;
He commands! I must obey Him,
For oh! so many have not heard.

I must go! I cannot loiter;
My Master’s work requireth haste;
Life, how short, and time, how fleeting,-
And much of both has gone to waste.

I must go! Lord, I entreat Thee
To guide my willing feet wright;
Give me love and give me wisdom
To lead some wand’rer to the light.
